Hi,
since the update some days ago I get two error messages:
Table 'xxxxx_sb3_.wp_ahm_emails' doesn't exist

As far as I can see, it only appears on the dashboard / home page. I made a printscreen with the message:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/cac31m24qnhswuc/database-error-wpdm.png?dl=0

I have the following add ons installed:
WPDM - Dropbox Explorer
WPDM - Extended Short-codes
WPDM - TinyMce Button
WPDM Page Template

Could you please help me getting rid of these errors?

Hello

I managed to connect to the database during the initial WordPress configuration, but I get the 'Error Establishing a Connection to Database' error each time after I have assigned a user account to the database.

The name of the database is tea and the details I have entered are as follows:

For the database
Username: master
Password: 07t01e2016a

For WordPress
Database Name: tea
Username: master
Password: 07t01e2016a
Database Host: localhost
Table Prefix: wp_

I use XAMPP and use port 8080 for Apache. Should the Database Host be localhost:8080?

Could someone please point out any error I made?

Thank you in advance

Updated the plugin to 2.7 yesterday, after which the database suffered a problem: all previous newsletters had gone, the mailinglist showed no subscribers.

The settings pages showed lots of WordPress database error messages, all based on the fact that [Table '[username].wordpr_wysija_user' doesn't exist]. Did not do anything beforehand that could have removed said table.

Reverted back to 2.6.19 manually, but that didn't help. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi,
I'm transferring a Wordpress.com blog to a new Wordpress.org website but I'm having trouble transferring everything. I've gone through the usual Wordpress tools - export XML file, import using the standard Wordpress import tool under "Tools" - but not everything is carrying over.

One thing I had to do was run the import several times just to get all the POSTS carried over, but that stopped working and things like categories and tags aren't transferring.

I also get this database error:

Warning: mysql_real_escape_string() expects parameter 1 to be string, object given in /home/rlp/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1129

I hesitate to post a link to the sites as I'm not sure if my client would allow this, so I'm only going to post it if someone deems it necessary to troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks very much.

Hi,

I'm trying to prepare to move a hosted WP site to another host that someone else had built a few years ago and wanted to practice the move to my local Mac to make sure I can get it moved. I've gone through installing and setting up MAMP and Wordpress and had already copied down the theme files that were created and the DB. I got the default WP site up initially with no problem and was able to change the theme as well but when I go and try changing the DB it uses I get an error of "Error establishing a database connection". I went in and updated the wp-config.php with the local DB name, user name, and password but for some reason it can't connect, I even changed the PW in the DB for the user but still no luck. I have a feeling I am missing something easy but have been unable to track it down thus far through the forum or general google searches. Anyone have any ideas or pointers of what I'm not updating? Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks
Matt

Kruble on "database error on migration"

I just manually migrated (copied) all my finished wp site files from a sub directory to the root directory. I also changed the wp-config.php file (as per support instructions) to read:

define('WP_HOME','http://kevinruble.com');
define('WP_SITEURL','http://kevinruble.com');

Now when I try to open my site through the url, I get
"Error establishing a database connection".

There is obviously some code missing to let the database connect, but I have no idea where to look or what to change.

Any help appreciated!

Hi all,
This is the first time I am installing wordpress on server. It shows an error
"Error establishing a database connection. This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at xyzhostname. This could mean your host’s database server is down."
Database and username and password setup are done on 1and1 hosting in a different system.I have uploaded wordpress files to server and tried to install wordpress(/wp-admin/install.php) from my system with those details. But it shows the "error establishing a database connection" error.

Should I do any database changes on my wamp system?

Hi.

I'm having the following issue.
Whenever WordPress try to get any term from database (product_tag, portfolio_tag, etc) I see messages like:

WordPress database error: [Error writing file '/tmp/MYAD3IY1' (Errcode: 28)]
SELECT t.*, tt.* FROM wp_terms AS t INNER JOIN wp_term_taxonomy AS tt ON t.term_id = tt.term_id WHERE tt.taxonomy IN ('product_tag') AND tt.count > 0 ORDER BY tt.count DESC LIMIT 45

or:

SELECT t.*, tt.* FROM wp_terms AS t INNER JOIN wp_term_taxonomy AS tt ON t.term_id = tt.term_id WHERE tt.taxonomy IN ('product_tag') ORDER BY t.name ASC LIMIT 200

Unfortunately, I do not know what happened, I mean, when this started.

I've done almost everything...

I've activated other theme, deactivated all plugins, reinstalled WordPress, rebooted mysql and nothing works.

As you can see in the image below I have many tags, but none is shown as they should:

http://i.stack.imgur.com/hedpv.jpg

My WordPress is up to date (4.4.1) either my plugins.
I've verified my database to make sure that the tags are still there, and they are.

Can someone help?

Thanks.

I copied my database, WP files, and wp-config.php files from one Cpanel server to another one. I changed my name servers to point to the new server, but the site won't load properly. The main URL is http://www.redstickfrench.com, which has to redirect to http://www.redstickfrench.com/wp since I installed WordPress in that directory without knowing what I was doing several months ago.

When you go to the URL, the error is: "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '');' (T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING) in /home/redstick/public_html/wp/wp-config.php on line 24"

When looking at line 48 of my database, it looks normal to me, since all I did was change the username and password credentials in the wp-config.php file to the correct credentials for the new database I created on the new cPanel server.

The line currently says:

/** MySQL database username */
define('DB_USER', ‘redstick_wp655');

Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance.

My site was working 100% fine when suddenly last night I am prompted with an error message when I try to login...

"Can’t select database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the medievc2_wor2 database.

Are you sure it exists?
Does the user medievc2_wor2 have permission to use the medievc2_wor2 database?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_medievc2_wor2. Could that be the problem?"

I checked with the host of the site and everything is completely fine, nothing has been changed recently. Any ideas on what to do? This came out of nowhere.

When you go to the site you see this: Error establishing a database connection

mengsel on "Possible fix for sudden redirect loop at wp-login with reauth=1"

$

Hi there, just wanted to share the solution to my grand frustration of the night. I had two websites running perfectly fine until one day I had to log in and take a peek at them again and update WP, when I encountered an obscure error...

Upon logging in with correct credentials (I double checked first by resetting it, then manually changing it in PhpMyAdmin) I kept getting bounced back to the wp-login screen. The URL was each time appended as http://mysite/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fmysite%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1. So I started mucking about the forums and googling fixes.

Here are all the things that I tried, but in my case, did not work:

  • Clearing my cache, logging in in Incognito-mode, user other browsers, etc.
  • Disabling all plugins by renaming the wp-content/plugins folder
  • Disabling all themes except twentysomething
  • Doing a complete re-upload of everything WP except wp-config.php and especially re-uploading wp-login.php
  • Wiping the .htaccess file (Thank god I made a backup)
  • Checking my database if it exceeded the allowed size (Mind you this has been a fix for several cases I encountered so make sure to check that!)
  • Adding code to wp-login.php to re-specify my site URL, or, doing the same manually in PhpMyAdmin to wp_options under 'home' and 'siteurl' (Mind you this can be a fix if you're using a different URL for your WP install than your server configuration, so that it bounces between http://www.yoursite and http://yoursite)

So then, like the hilarious amateur I am, I came to the enlightened idea of perhaps checking the debugger out!

TIP: when things hit the fan, churn on that debugger and amaze at the amount of useful information it provides you!

Now the debugger gave me two pieces of info I could use:

  1. An error stating MySQL server has gone away followed by something about usermeta, meta_value and a gigantic string of information it apparently tried and failed to write into the database
  2. Several errors regarding Cannot modify header information - headers already sent

Because I suspected the errors came in in the right order, just like that, I finally discovered the problem: the database. It looked like a session token was being written into the database, but because it was gigantic, the database timed out, making WordPress fling me back to the login page again.

My Fix

  1. Go into PhpMyAdmin to your WordPress database
  2. Find the table named wp_usermeta
  3. Find the rows titled session_token
  4. Delete the value associated with it
  5. (Mind you the value is huge and your browser might freak out. I did it by clicking 'edit' for that record first, then toggling the null value for the field on and off, selecting the empty field and pressing delete a couple of times to make sure, and then hit save)

And there you have it. A possible solution to that incessant and infuriating redirect loop problem that occurs when your database and WordPress stop playing together correctly. I've seen a lot of frustrated users in the forums with similar issues, so I hope this post will be of use to you. Good luck.

I started noticing recently a number of errors in the logs, not sure how long they have been there, but they are all of the form:

IT seems there is no table by this name in the db! And when I tried reinstalling the plugin, it did not create it. I even tried a fresh install on a different wordpress and it did not create this table. Any suggestions?
